Sugarcraft
This is an art form created in various sugar mediums. It is more than cake decorating as in some cases no cake is involved and the pieces of work are simply works of art in sugar.

Anything and everything is possible provided one is given ample time to achieve the impossible.

Replicating the natural structure, shape and details of the flowers and foliage is time consuming especially if you are trying to capture the essence of the flowers.

It has taken me eighteen years to develop the special paste that I use for this highly specialised work. Because sugar is a hygroscopic medium I tend to change the recipe slightly according to the climate in which I am working.

The honeysuckle and briar rose arrangement won me 1st prize in the very early part of my career and I still have it in my cabinet.

This is a model of an early flowering variety which is based upon a specimen plant from my neighbour's garden. Later, they gave me a cutting which now graces my garden wall.

Having made the stamens, the petals and assembled and painted the alstromeria, (the lily) how was I going to display this?

I happen to find the perfect container - a base that I had previously purchased in Poland. The glazing of the containers enhances the entire arrangement.
