St. Macher’s Cathedral - This involved a round trip of 200
miles for a site visit, planning, drawing, scaling and making a
model before baking the cake. This is a 3 tier stacked fruit cake
and was royal iced to get the clean lines for the building.
The wrought iron work found around the church was incorporated
into the filigree collar work. The difficult part was putting the
crosses on the cake – they had to be straight. Then there was the
200 mile return journey to Aberdeen with the cake!!!
